Pirelli and the Junior Zagato
|
In the early 1970's, Italia tire manufacturer Pirelli, long-term supplier of Alfa-Romeo, used Alfas extensively throughout their advertising campaigns.
In some cases, they used the Junior Zagato.
Around 1971, Pirelli ran a campaign using a white JZ 1300 (chassis-number unknown) in an almost psychedelic setting with multi colored neon lights reflecting in the Plexiglas front of the car.
This photo was used for a poster.
The poster in turn was used in magazine advertisements, which included a ticket that could be filled-out with one's name and address and sent to Pirelli who in turn would send you such a poster for free!
After years of hunting, I finally managed to lay my hands on one of the posters!
It's in far-from-mint condition but I'm VERY happy that I finally got one!
Also depicted is the aforementioned magazine ad (in French in this case).

In 1972, Pirelli again used an Alfa Romeo Junior Zagato in their magazine advertisement.
This time it is a red car, and again the chassis-number is unknown.
The advertisement is for the ten-new Pirelli Cinturato CN36 tires.
